I bought this 45rpm the day before the beginning of 7th grade. I loved how the song rocked and yet, featuring largely acoustic guitars, it had a softer and more organic (read "human") feel. And KILLER lyrics. I loved poetry as a kid, and "Bus Stop" tells a great story ... right at the time I was discovering girls ❤

Ha! I've still got the 1st Trombone sheet music for Peg, from High School Band! We actually played and marched to Peg at RFK stadium for the Cherry Blossom Festuval in Washington DC in 1978. I'm almost 60 hrs old now, and I could still play the Trombone part even without the sheet music. Love that song!

I know I'm late to comment on this song but I had to post this. It's been said, beautifully, by many people here in the comments: This song can be a lifeline to someone who is thinking about ending things. It's not about what year you were born in-anyone, despite their age, can feel this kind of depression. It's not about just feeling down and that it's rough to feel anything other than neutral or happy. It's about people who are at the end of their rope and need something or someone to remind them-please don't give up, please HOLD ON.

I was a early fan of Steely Dan . Even now 50 years later I believe them to be the best band of all, after the Beatles of course.

A brilliant tune that was overplayed back in the day. They have other good tunes, try their great cover of Van Morrison's "Jackie Wilson Said", then you best check out Jackie Wilson's "Reet Petite" OR "Higher & Higher" An immense up-lifting tune.

"I Wish" is such a funky tune that has a great message, one of my most played Stevie tunes, along with "Sir Duke" both up-lifting tunes. Since you asked, two tunes I listen to A LOT! Are "Alone Again or" by Love & "Light Flight" by Pentangle, they seem to complement each other too.

Every single member of DD was one of the best of the time. I know you don't love the synth, but that includes Nick Rhodes, who was just *miles* ahead of everyone else in what he was making them do.
